So, sometimes, I use fake flowers. But I try to use them carefully and when possible, in combination with real leaves or twigs.
Silk flowers, paper flowers and plastic flowers have evolved so much that it is hard to often tell whether they are fake or not. The goal here is not to trick people…the goal is to create a few simple floral arrangements that you can put away and take out at a moments notice if you feel your home is looking a little less than fresh and splendid.
Mudo Concept carries the French line SIA and a few other brands that are very close to the real thing. Many other retailers from IKEA to Beymen Home have lots of options to choose from…but choose carefully:
- Incorporate lots of (fake or real) greenery and branches
- I don't like the ones with clear gel on the bottom. I prefer using real water.
- If it looks too fake…don't buy it…it will look even worse when you take it home.
- "The more expensive the better" is a rule that unfortunately does apply here…fake flowers are not cheap…
Here are four faux arrangements I really like...
