Up until I was around seven years old, the best playdates were with friends who had lots and lots of Barbies. But somewhere around the time I started reading, I began racing to friend's houses whose parents had invested in stacks of board games. I grew up in Canada in the 80's. Nothing was "streaming to and fro" back then. It was a time when families were forced to sit around and play board games, drink hot chocolate and watch the snow fall. It was a time when children played together--relatively quietly--for hours without breaking anything.
The Best 25 BOARD GAMES TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION!
Some of these games are for kids, some are for adults. When you are purchasing them from Amazon or a local retailer, make sure you check out the age-appropriateness. These are my favourites...Let me know what I have missed (Number 25 is the "Chinese Pick-up Sticks" game in the cover photo).
As you can imagine, playing board games together has tons of benefits for the entire family. Your brains (and your children's brains) will thank me for this post one day...
